Friday favourites || January 15th

1.The Danish Girl

A beautiful adaptation of transgender struggles at a time where this was unheard of. I recommend taking some tissues as I was not prepared for such an emotional rollercoaster! I don’t want to give anything away but I will say that I came out of the cinema thinking I need to seriously up my wife game!!

2.Revolution de Cuba – Manchester

One of my all time favourite nights out! Amazing cocktails, great atmosphere and banging tunes – what’s not to like?! Get there early and you may even get a free maraca, a chance to do the limbo or come face to butt with some half naked ladies on stilts.

3.Tesco dine in for £10

So Tuesday found a super grumpy Laura! I was becoming irrationally irritated by everything and everyone and I literally had to stop myself from snapping at people for no good reason – not cool! On my way home I gave myself a pep talk, “you need to get a grip girl, pull yourself together!” and what better way to do so than with carbs and cheese!

The meal: Lasagne, dauphinois  potatoes, raspberry and prosecco cheesecake, red wine.

It was so good that I don’t even feel guilty – SCREW YOU JANUARY HEALTH KICK. I feel as though this was a necessary public service and therefore the calories totally don’t count!

4.My body.

Bear with me here guys; this may sound like a strange one but I’m seriously impressed with how the body just magically recovers from stuff! It’s been almost 3 months now since my operation and my ankle is getting stronger each day.

Ive just come back from physio and have been told I can finally start getting back to normal, driving/yoga/spinning I literally could not be more excited right now!

Like seriously, let’s all take a minute to sit and ponder the amazing things our body can do! Basically… keeping us alive. Think of a time you’ve been really sick or injured and now look at yourself today… WTF how does it do it?! Bravo body!! Thank you for keeping all my insides in and stuff 🙂

5.There’s actual blue skies today!

Like hello Spring are you here already? Will my new clan of baby geese arrive in the park soon? Or are you just messing with an overly emotional gal right now?

I think it’s the latter but all the same I’m appreciating a bit of winter sun 🙂 I am not one for long dark days, it does nothing for my mental state! A little vitamin D boost is just what this girl needed to fulfill her FRIYAY!

Have a great weekend chicka’s! Drink responsibly and be safe etc

Peace and love xoxo
