Halloween at Homesense

Halloween is literally my favourite time of year but unfortunately this time round I have plans that do not include getting dressed up as something ghoulish whilst drinking themed cocktails and I’m a bit gutted NGL.

So when Homesense contacted me with another voucher to pick out some halloween bits from my local store it really lifted my “spirits” …. get it!?

I had planned to have a scary movie night with Jon on Friday the 13th in order to showcase what I got and really get into the vibe but alas Jon was over tired and I was deathly hungover. Instead I sat in my fluffy pjs cuddling the cat whilst eating pizza and watching “how to get away with murder” (and if you are up to date on this PLEASE CONTACT ME!!! The cliffhanger endings are sending me into turmoil and I need someone who understands my angst!)

However I did make use of what I bought that evening and I suppose a programme about murder is on the Halloween spectrum, so here goes:

The light up pumpkin

This was a last minute pick up from the sale section. It’s perfect not only for Halloween but also to provide a little light on those dark autumnal evenings. It will definitely be staying out after Halloween! I surrounded the pumpkin with my other table lights from primark, a sandalwood Inscent stick (perfect for working with the moon) and some crystals for good measure. The only thing that disappointed me about the pumpkin is that’s it’s a white light rather than a more cosy yellow one but it’s still great.

The Halloween cup

I was hoping to get a matching pair of these but unfortunately there was only one left. It currently takes pride of place on our bar cart (which is subsequently my pride and joy.) I sat the cup next to a blood red candle and after sageing the flat to ward off any unwanted spirits I left a piece there to burn out. (FYI even if you aren’t into spirits and magic, burning sage makes your home smell list a roast dinner and I am all about that life!) I will deffo be using the skull cup for red wine on Halloween and my inner goth girl is excited that it’s in our collection of drink ware.

The cat mask

So I’m not entirely sure why I picked this up but it spoke to me! I think I’d actually planned to wear it whilst watching tv (and it’s really comfy believe it or not) but I’m sure we can all agree that it looks better perched on my bird cage and less people will question my sanity with this choice. I put it on to see how my cat would react and boringly… she couldn’t have given less of a crap if she tried. But hey if I ever get invited to a masquerade ball I’m all set.

The skull candle holder

I love this little guy. The colours, the size, the way you casually perch a candle on his head. He now sits next to my TV providing some spooky hygge autumn goals and I’m here for it. It’s one of those things I never knew I needed till now.

The hollow skull

And last but not least my absolute FAVE! I found this under a display hidden by something else and actually put an item back so I could take this baby home. He sits on my living room table and during my Friday the 13th soirée for one I filled his cranium with popcorn and had zero regrets. You could put anything in there though, flowers, your keys, loose change, Halloween sweets for trick or treaters – the hollow skull is your oyster, AND SO PRETTY!!

Homesense is literally my favourite shop, whenever they send me a voucher I always spend at least double but it’s SO hard to stick to a budget in there. I was proud at how I refrained from buying all the fluffy blankets and large sofa cushions that I don’t have the money for but I’ve dreamt about those items I left behind everyday since. Homesense also get well behind a themed holiday so if you’re as into Halloween as me make sure you check it out! Also the Christmas stuff is slowly starting to seep in which gets me all kinds of excited.

What’s your favourite item that I got?

Peace and love xoxo

    I am a Homesense addict AND I DON’T CARE.

Also, you should totally make your skull a punch bowl for one. Hic.
