Skincare update

Ok so skin update… if you read my last post you will know that things were going pretty well, until I gave into my cheese demons and I’ve now started to break out again. I’m trying not to stress too much about it though because I know what I have to do to get back on track!

Over the past few months my skin has been on a major journey and I got to a place where I was actually starting to feel comfortable with it. Not only did going dairy free assist in this but I think it was in a large part down to the products I switched to.

March:

April (Tuesday 4th went dairy free):

May (super stressed and not well / stopped taking pill/ mimosa skin consultancy Tuesday 23rd, got testers of the products):

June:

July (bought full size products):

August (didn’t take a progress photo but here’s my burnt face on holiday/ started eating dairy again):

September:

After going for a skin consultation at Mimosa Beauty with the lovely Jennie she recommended some products for me to try. I was given a load of little testers to take home and after seeing such great results I went back and ordered a couple of the full size babies. (They aren’t the cheapest but also not massively expensive – when you find something that’s helping your skin you just go with it!)

My skin care routine now consists of:

Take make up off (usually with just water and a flannel, my fave being the make up eraser!)

Cleanse with Vitage revitalising daily cleanse

Leave cleanser on whilst brushing teeth and rinse off with flannel

Apply Vitage Aloe Vera gel

I do this morning and night and my skin is soft and supple and way less red that it used to be! I had planned to get the Medik8 ultimate recovery cream too but it was out of stock. I also have some testers of the masks left over which I will occasionally wear overnight if I’m feeling particularly dry.

It’s without a doubt the best skincare routine I’ve ever had and my face is definitely thanking me for it. Finding products that help hydrate rather than dry you out is a huge bonus and something that Jennie is passionate about promoting.

I would highly recommend going for a chat at Mimosa Beauty because Jennie is a self confessed skin geek and an expert in this field, I’m so glad that I found her and massive plus is they’re basically next door to me!

Find what works for you! I’m not saying a have perfect skin now and have cracked the code, in all of the months I’ve photographed above I had good and bad days but I think we can all agree it’s going in the right direction!

Peace and love xoxo

N.B. Just a quick little brain dump as I wrote this post a few days ago now. I have had the most painful under the skin spot next to my eye that has swollen and made me look mental. My skin in general is a bit of a mess right now and I honestly put this down to the whole eating dairy again thing. However, this time around my skin is less cracked, dry, itchy and painful – I mean this spot hurts like a bitch I can’t even raise my brows in peace but my actual skin isn’t painful (those who suffer with acne will understand that!) These products really are a dream for me and if I can just get myself back on track food wise I know it’ll look so much better.

Hi! I ran across your blog and wanted to say you are gorgeous!! I am currently suffering with crazy crazy acne all around my mouth, nose/cheek and hairline area. I had been on birth control since i was 18, but came off of it in January 2017 since my husband and i were going to start trying for a baby. Welp… March rolls around and we found out we were expecting! My skin from January- March was still clear, but as i progressed in my pregnancy, my hormones FREAKED. I have the same acne surrounding my mouth that has been here for 7 months, YAY. I’m hoping it can get back on track after delivery. What are you doing to settle yours?

Hi Jaclyn! Soooo sorry I never got back to you here, I had issue’s with my comments but didn’t realise until now. Thank you so much for your lovely message, bad skin sucks doesn’t it 🙁 How’s your’s doing now?
I’ve found that cutting out diary has helped massively, as well as stripping back my skin care routine and using bare minerals make up. I also find that sugar/alcohol causes me to flare up but a girl can only do so much right haha x

Ah wow you just wouldn’t know you have gone through this. Seeing you today I mean it really wasn’t visible.

Checkout a company I’ve recently worked with called Frezyderm. They work with dermatologists and are becoming a gonto product for many.

    Lovely to meet you today.
